How Many Days Do You Need to Trek Rinjani?
You can trek Rinjani in anything from two to five days. Two days gets you the summit and nothing else. Four days gets you the summit, the lake, the hot springs, and time to actually enjoy them. Five days gets you two summits and the wildest descent.
2 days, 1 night — the summit, fast and hard
You reach the crater rim on day one and summit before dawn on day two, then descend. No lake, no hot springs, no margin for error. It is rated very hard because of the pace, not the terrain. Only choose it if you are fit and summit-focused. See the 2D1N Summit Attack, or the gentler 2D1N Second Summit.
3 days, 2 nights — everything, compressed
The summit, Segara Anak Lake, hot springs, and a second crater rim, all inside one very long summit day. Rewarding, but demanding. Good for experienced trekkers with limited time. See 3D2N Summit, Lake & Hot Spring.
4 days, 3 nights — the sweet spot
This is what we recommend for most people. You get the summit and the lake with enough rest in between to feel the mountain instead of just surviving it. Choose the scenic Summit & Torean descent or the comfortable Sembalun to Senaru traverse.
5 days, 4 nights — the complete Rinjani
Two summits, two crater rims, the lake twice, and the Torean valley on the way out. The most complete program on the mountain, and still rated only moderate because the pace is spread out. See 5D4N Dual Summit.

Whatever you pick, read how hard it is and the packing list first.
