Package B — Dual Crater Rim

Mount Rinjani Trekking 4D3N — Sembalun to Senaru

Moderate · Dual Crater Rim · Slow Program

"Two crater rims. One summit. Zero rush." The Complete Rinjani.
At a Pace You'll
Actually Enjoy..

Most Rinjani packages rush you through the mountain to check off boxes. This one is built differently. The 4D3N Sembalun–Senaru program is a slow, complete Rinjani experience — designed for trekkers who want to see everything the mountain offers without spending the whole journey catching their breath. You reach the summit. You spend time at the lake. You cross both crater rims. And you have enough downtime in between to actually feel it.

Starting from Sembalun and finishing at Senaru, this route gives you a traverse across the mountain — two very different trails, two very different views, one complete picture of what Rinjani really is. It’s the route guides recommend when someone asks which program they should do first.

0Arrival
Make Your Way to Senaru. We Handle Everything from Here.. Arrival Day · Senaru Village · Briefing & Rest "The best kind of anticipation is the kind you sleep through."

Head to Senaru Village in North Lombok — your base before the trek begins. You can get here independently from Lombok Airport, Mataram, Senggigi, or wherever you're staying. If you'd like us to arrange transport or accommodation in Senaru, both are available as add-ons — just mention it when you book.

Once you're settled in Senaru, your guide walks you through the full program, answers every question, and makes sure you know what to expect. Good dinner, early sleep — tomorrow, the mountain starts.

1Trek Day 1
Open Savanna. Your First Glimpse of What's Ahead. ~7 Hours · Sembalun Village → Sembalun Crater Rim 2,639m "The savanna opens in front of you like a painting someone forgot to finish."

After breakfast, we transfer to Sembalun Village — the official entry point for this route. The trek begins across wide, golden savanna fields where Rinjani's silhouette fills the horizon. It's open, exposed, and already beautiful before you've even started climbing.

You pass through three trail posts, with lunch served by the porter team at Post 2. The afternoon climb to the crater rim is steady and rewarding — by 5 PM, you arrive at Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m), where the full view of Segara Anak Lake unfolds below you for the first time. Dinner at camp as the sky turns gold and purple. Sleep under stars.

2Summit Day
2:30 AM. The Mountain Is Cold, Dark, and Completely Yours. ~10 Hours · Summit 3,726m → Segara Anak Lake 2,000m "At the top, you don't feel like you conquered anything. You feel like you were let in."

This is the day everything else leads to. You wake before sunrise, take a hot drink, and begin the summit push at 2:30 AM. The ascent takes about 3 hours on a steep, volcanic trail — cold, dark, and quiet. When you reach the summit at 3,726 meters, the sunrise is already happening. Bali's Mount Agung to the west. Mount Tambora in Sumbawa to the east. Lombok laid out below you like a map.

After descending back to camp for breakfast and a proper rest, the afternoon carries you down to Segara Anak Lake — a caldera lake at 2,000 meters. Natural hot springs sit at the water's edge. You soak. You eat. You sleep beside the lake with the crater walls rising around you on three sides.

3Torean Route
The Trail Most People Never Take ~7–8 Hours · Segara Anak Lake → Torean Valley Camp "Every trekker who does this route says the same: they didn't expect it to be this beautiful."

Today you descend through the Torean route — and it will surprise you. Unlike the standard paths back, Torean takes you through ancient sacred terrain. You pass Goa Susu, a cave with layered limestone formations, then drop into river valleys where waterfalls appear without warning. The jungle grows thicker as you descend, the air becomes warm and humid, and the trail narrows into something that feels more like discovery than walking.

This is the trail that makes people consider doing Rinjani again just to do this part one more time. Overnight camping in the jungle — the last night on the mountain.

4Finish
Down to the Village. The Mountain Behind You. ~4–5 Hours · Torean Valley → Torean Village · Transfer Out "You don't leave Rinjani. You just carry it differently."

A final morning descent through the forest brings you to Torean Village, where the trail ends and the road begins. Your guide hands you back to civilization. Our driver is waiting. Whether you're heading to your hotel, airport, or anywhere else in Lombok — we take you there..

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
Rinjani is challenging — especially the summit push, which involves 3+ hours of steep volcanic trail starting at 2:30 AM. Our programs are designed with steady pacing so most trekkers with reasonable fitness complete them successfully. You don't need prior mountaineering experience, but you do need to be able to walk 6–10 hours and commit to an early morning start.
Choose Summit & Torean (4D3N) for the most dramatic scenery — waterfalls, caves, and jungle. Choose Sembalun–Senaru (4D3N) for a relaxed pace with more time at the lake. Choose 3D2N if you're experienced and want everything compressed. Choose 2D1N Summit Attack if you only want the top. Choose Second Summit (Package F) for a hidden gem with a unique view.
No. Most of our trekkers are doing their first high-altitude trek here. Our guides support all fitness levels and adjust pace accordingly. What matters more is physical preparation — cardio fitness, leg strength, and good sleep before the trek.
April through December is trekking season. The dry months (May–August) offer the clearest summit views and most stable conditions. The mountain closes January–March during the wet season. Aim for May, June, or July for the best experience.
Quality camping tents set up by our team at designated campsites — tent, sleeping bag, mattress, and pillow. Luxury packages also include camping chairs and a table at every campsite. You're not eating dinner cross-legged on the ground after a 10-hour trek.
Better than you'd expect. Our porter team cooks full meals at every campsite — pancakes or omelettes in the morning, fried rice or noodle dishes at lunch, curries or gado-gado for dinner. Fresh fruit, soft drinks, biscuits, and hot drinks throughout. Vegetarian options available.
Yes — genuinely hot. The natural hot springs sit right at the lake's edge, fed by geothermal activity. After a day that includes a summit climb, soaking here with a volcanic crater lake in front of you is exactly as good as it sounds. Most trekkers call it the highlight of the trip.
Click Book via WhatsApp and our team confirms your slot. A 10% deposit secures your date — the remaining balance is paid on arrival. We accept USD, IDR, and major currencies via bank transfer or Wise.
