There are two kinds of people who come to Rinjani. Those who want to reach the top — and those who want to understand why it pulls people back, again and again. This program is for both. In four days, you'll stand on the highest point of Lombok at 3,726 meters, watch the sun rise above the clouds, and look out over three islands at once. Then, instead of retracing your steps, you descend through the Torean route — a trail so wild and scenic that most trekkers say it's the part they remember most.
The Torean route is not the easy way down. It's the extraordinary one. River valleys, sacred caves, cascading waterfalls, and tropical jungle so dense the canopy blocks the sky — this is Rinjani the way the mountain actually is, not just the top of it. If you're going to climb this mountain, you might as well see all of it.

Day-by-day itinerary
Make your way to Senaru Village — the gateway to Rinjani, located in North Lombok. You can arrange your own transport from Lombok Airport, Mataram, Senggigi, or anywhere else on the island. Transfer and accommodation in Senaru can each be added as optional services — ask us when you book and we'll sort it out.
Once you're in Senaru, you'll meet your guide for a complete briefing on what the next four days hold. This is the night to rest well, pack light, and let the anticipation do its thing. Your trek begins tomorrow at dawn.
After breakfast, we transfer to Sembalun Village — the official entry point for this route. The trek begins across wide, golden savanna fields where Rinjani's silhouette fills the horizon. It's open, exposed, and already beautiful before you've even started climbing.
You pass through three trail posts, with lunch served by the porter team at Post 2. The afternoon climb to the crater rim is steady and rewarding — by 5 PM, you arrive at Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m), where the full view of Segara Anak Lake unfolds below you for the first time. Dinner at camp as the sky turns gold and purple. Sleep under stars.
This is the day everything else leads to. You wake before sunrise, take a hot drink, and begin the summit push at 2:30 AM. The ascent takes about 3 hours on a steep, volcanic trail — cold, dark, and quiet. When you reach the summit at 3,726 meters, the sunrise is already happening. Bali's Mount Agung to the west. Mount Tambora in Sumbawa to the east. Lombok laid out below you like a map.
After descending back to camp for breakfast and a proper rest, the afternoon carries you down to Segara Anak Lake — a caldera lake at 2,000 meters. Natural hot springs sit at the water's edge. You soak. You eat. You sleep beside the lake with the crater walls rising around you on three sides.
Today you descend through the Torean route — and it will surprise you. Unlike the standard paths back, Torean takes you through ancient sacred terrain. You pass Goa Susu, a cave with layered limestone formations, then drop into river valleys where waterfalls appear without warning. The jungle grows thicker as you descend, the air becomes warm and humid, and the trail narrows into something that feels more like discovery than walking.
This is the trail that makes people consider doing Rinjani again just to do this part one more time. Overnight camping in the jungle — the last night on the mountain.
A final morning descent through the forest brings you to Torean Village, where the trail ends and the road begins. Your guide hands you back to civilization. Our driver is waiting. Whether you're heading to your hotel, airport, or anywhere else in Lombok — we take you there.
