"Most people climb Rinjani. Very few get to see it disappear behind them."
Mount Rinjani 4D3N · Via Sembalun · End at Torean · Summit 3,726m
There are two kinds of people who come to Rinjani. Those who want to reach the top, and those who want to understand why it pulls people back, again and again. This program is for both. In four days, you’ll stand on the highest point of Lombok at 3,726 meters, watch the sun rise above the clouds, and look out over three islands at once.
Then, instead of retracing your steps, you descend through the Torean route, a trail so wild and scenic that most trekkers say it’s the part they remember most. River valleys, sacred caves, cascading waterfalls, and tropical jungle so dense the canopy blocks the sky.
Sembalun Village
Torean Village
4 Days · 3 Nights
Moderate to Challenging
Make your way to Senaru Village, the gateway to Rinjani in North Lombok. Transport and accommodation are available as add-ons. Once you're in Senaru, your guide walks you through the full program. Rest well, pack light, and let the anticipation do its thing.
After breakfast, we transfer to Sembalun Village. The trek begins across wide, golden savanna with Rinjani's silhouette filling the horizon. Lunch at Post 2. By 5 PM, you reach Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m), where Segara Anak Lake unfolds below you for the first time. Dinner as the sky turns gold.
You wake before sunrise and begin the summit push at 2:30 AM, about 3 hours on steep volcanic trail. At 3,726 meters, the sunrise is already happening. Mount Agung on Bali to the west, Tambora on Sumbawa to the east, Lombok laid out below like a map.
After descending to camp for breakfast, the afternoon carries you down to Segara Anak Lake. Natural hot springs sit at the water's edge. You soak, you eat, you sleep beside the lake with crater walls rising on three sides.
Today you descend through the Torean route. You pass Goa Susu, a cave with layered limestone, then drop into river valleys where waterfalls appear without warning. The jungle thickens, the air turns warm and humid, and the trail narrows into something that feels more like discovery than walking. Overnight in the jungle, the last night on the mountain.
A final morning descent through the forest brings you to Torean Village, where the trail ends and the road begins. Our driver is waiting, ready to take you to your hotel, the airport, or anywhere else in Lombok.
You bring yourself and the willingness to climb. We take care of the rest.
